Why the name...

The word ISTMO has a very special meaning. Born in Canada, Jadiel is proud of his unique cultural background. His parents emigrated from Panama, instilling the importance of fluently speaking Spanish and embracing his Afro Caribbean heritage.

The most well-known "isthmus" is the Republic of Panama. It joins North America / Central America with South America. Definition of “Istmo” (Spanish for isthmus): a narrow strip of land connecting two larger masses of land. It is pronounced: eest-moh.

Panama has one of the great man-made wonders of the world, the Panama Canal. It connects two of the world’s largest bodies of water: the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

The Panama Canal serves as a short-cut passage for companies around the world to transport their products quickly and efficiently and it is the catalyst for making countries global economic superpowers.

As a new, innovative, and respectable Canadian television and film production company, ISTMO PRODUCTIONS will do the same for the television and film industry … bringing great stories to audiences around the world!

In the same way the "Panama Canal" unites the world through commerce, "Istmo Productions" unites the world through powerful storytelling!
